The Business Women’s Association (BWASA) has announced that nominations for the 2011 Regional Business Achiever Awards are now open to all women in business based in Durban, the South Coast and the Midlands.

Nominations are invited for the five categories: Professional, Corporate, Emerging Entrepreneur, Entrepreneur, and Social Entrepreneur.

“Besides the business criteria, nominees should be seen as a role model and be actively making a difference within the company/corporation and community in which they live and in turn must be an ambassador of the values and principals of the BWA,” says Durban chairperson, Farzanah Mall.

The BWA is the largest and most prominent national association of professional business women in South Africa, with 10 branches countrywide and the awards are highly regarded among the business community.

Previous winners include Linda Ness from Linda Ness Associates, Ronel Stevens from Speciality Papers, Hilda Tod from The Bedroom, Thora Mansfield from the Open Door Crisis Centre and Nobuntu Webster from Ayano Communications.  All say that the impact of receiving such an accolade has been significant in the lives of their businesses and organisations.

Entry is free and applicants need not be a member of the BWA.  The closing date for nominations is Thursday, April 21, 2011.
