February 1, 2011. This is footage filmed at about 7pm on January 31 of a twister over the south of Durban. The footage has been loaded to YouTube. I have to say, it looks like a tornado to me.
Dictionary.com definition of a tornado: “a localised, violently destructive windstorm occurring over land, characterised by a long, funnel-shaped cloud extending toward the ground and made visible by condensation and debris.

OMF LOL…
This person has some American blood in her, she overdramatised and exaggerated this to a quite ridiculous extent…
Don’t know why you should say that Realist – it IS quite an unusual sight in Durban, and I think she just sounds out of breath. It’s actually brilliant footage.
Thanks for the the footage.
Yeah it was a tornado , but not as big as some of the ones that happen in the US! It must have taken some power lines out! Heard the woman say they were out power! It makes us think we should take care of our Earth. Global warming is a major factor. I used to live on the Bluff in Tara Road. The Upper Highway area has also had its share of Tornados!! Kloof homes had their roofs ripped off, and big trees taken out!
Pps could u make this clip Ava to download plzzzzzz!!!!! I want to upload it on the talk site in on
Global warming my ass!!!
Where was global warming in 1915???? It’s just the Earth’s natural patterns!!!
Don’t be fooled! Global warming is a sham to milk us of more money!
Thanks for the footage. I live in the Bluff area, it’s nice to be kept informed.
Years ago while teaching at Maris Stella, I saw three water spouts (as these are) from a top window – among the parked ships. Others witnessed them too. Not common but they do occur off the coast
I have had friends say they saw this. I don’t think it’s fake at all.
You’re all going to get wiped out.
I’m not sure what Bart’s Bru is trying to say here. The original message was a bit hectic, but thanks for the comment anyway. We think it’s a great video, a great talking point and a really unusual sight in Durban.
Excellent footage! We had a small tornado in the Waterfall area about two or three years ago. It caused quite a bit of damage. I have to agree there is no such thing as global warming. This is all signs that Christ has talked about. He is on the way and we have to start preparing ourselves.
