Ridge staffer helps raise cash for kittens
Ridge staff member Sam Bird and friends Kiley Horne and Robyn Maher dressed up as cats and raised more than R1 100 for the SPCA. The lovely kittens attended the Sharks v Lions rugby match at the Shark Tank on Saturday and drummed up donations from generous Sharks fans.
Kiley said, “It was freezing cold and the wind was howling but as volunteers and truly dedicated to the cause, we took the challenge and ‘prowled’ the fields in our very sexy kitty outfits”.
See our picture gallery below.
Jo-Ann van der Merwe, Stadium Management The Sharks, commented: “Well done to you and the other ladies for getting all dressed up in the freezing cold! I don’t know many people who would do the same, so BRAVO!”
All funds collected have been donated to the Kloof and Highway SPCA.
Barbara Masterson of the Kloof & Highway SPCA congratulated the ladies for their efforts and said the SPCA was extremely grateful for the generous donation.

I just stopped by your blog and thought I would say hello. I like your site design. Looking forward to reading more down the road.
YAY!!!
And a BIG thanks to everyone who opened their hearts (and wallets) to help us help the babies of the SPCA…a worthwhile cause!
A worthwhile cause indeed! Well done Sam and The Ridge. Good to see that kittens can tame both Lions and Sharks.
Our kittens are Lion tamers for sure. Well done Sam, well done the Sharks.
Well done ladies, this was a fantastic effort on your part. We at the Kloof & Highway SPCA are extremely grateful to you for putting yourselves out there and doing the hard work, for the animals. We received the donation of R1100 today collected by the three kitties which is wonderful. Please have a look at our facebook page for pictures and news updates.
You’re welcome Barbara, we would do this again in a heartbeat. We are just so glad to be helping out such a needy and well deserved cause. We just hope that we have left paw prints on people’s hearts to continue to donate to the SPCA. Thank you to the editor as well for publishing our kitty campaign:
