Sars office closed

February 13, 2012: Witnesses reported the entire third floor of the building housing the Sars office at Mount Edgecombe being in flames when a fire raged in the building on Saturday night.

The third floor was extensively damaged in the fire which raged for hours before being brought under control.

There is also water damage to the building.

There were no reports of injuries after the fire, which was widely reported on social networks on Saturday night. It is unclear when the office will be reopened.
