Rod’s advice for Paris

You know things have gotten pretty ropy when “Rockin’” Rod Stewart starts telling you to calm down. With fresh allegations about drug taking and altercations with the police this week, it’s fair to say that hotel heiress Paris Hilton is getting a tad out of control.

Since June Paris has been involved in numerous drug-related incidents and just last week was arrested for alleged possession of cocaine in party town Las Vegas.

Hello Magazine reports that Rod, who’s never been shy of a wee party himself, has advised Hilton to take it easy because, “You don’t need them. We’ve all done it but I’ve never been a druggie person so I’ve always been against it.”

While Rod – who has recorded a string of number ones in the US and UK – earned a reputation in his early days with the Faces as a party animal, he has certainly mellowed somewhat in latter years.

In a video showing on YouTube Rod describes Paris as a lovely girl, who is “very polite”, and urges her to forget about the drugs. Very wise words indeed from one of the elder statesmen of rock n roll.

Rod’s daughter Kimberley was apparently once a very close friend of the blonde hotel heiress.
