February 20, 2012: Strong interest in future phases of Rob Roy Lifestyle Village has seen the developers release the Donald Glas wing for sale off-plan. Phase one, consisting of 70 units, is completely sold out!
The new wing, to be built adjacent to the main building, is named after Rob Roy MacGregor’s father. This wing will consist of 21, one and two bedroom units over four levels, with direct access to the main building, and six garden apartments completing the phase.
Construction has begun and completion is scheduled in the latter part of 2012, with 13 units already sold.
A unique element to this phase is the opportunity to choose the layout of the apartment. High-quality finishes are offered, with spectacular valley views completing the picture. The lift services all floors, with laundry facilities and trolley bays allocated on the parking level. Security is prime, with patrolling guards, perimeter monitoring and access control.
The impressive range of world-class facilities and services available in a five-star hotel environment cater for all the residents’ requirements, and the developers say Rob Roy Lifestyle Village has been designed to afford maximum relaxation and a community spirit, with residents “who feel they are on holiday 365 days of the year”.
Regular evenings and events are part of the social calendar and the latest addition to the facilities list is a first for KZN – a two-lane astro turf bowling green!
A recent audit of health and safety standards will give the Rob Roy a 5-star rating, highlighting the five stages of accommodation available to residents.
The five stages of accommodation cover the progression from independent living through interdependent living to dependent living. There is no stigma attached to the fact that a resident may have to make use of two, three or all five stages. It is a fact of life that we are ageing and that there will come a time when we will need assistance.
The accommodation is also supported by the full range of services required to provide the resident with a quality of life in comfortable and friendly surroundings. No expense will be spared to provide accommodation and services to meet the high standard expected by residents.
About the 5 stages of accommodation…
Stage 1: Independent living
Residents enjoy totally independent living, where they are free to choose their lifestyle without extra support. A home care service is, however, available to residents whereby day or night caring assistance is provided during a period of illness or on an ongoing basis. The cost of the home care depends upon the range of care or service that is required.
Stage 2: Interdependent living
You’ll be offered a choice of an independent or interdependent lifestyle where they can chose to have their meals in the Duke of Montrose resident’s dining room for an additional charge or to self cater. Daily cleaning, bed making, dish washing and laundry services are offered at a reasonable cost.
Stage 3: Interdependent assisted living
Residents are provided with general assistance, for example, medication, regular checks during the day and night. Domestic help is also available as per Stage 2.
Stage 4: Interdependent semi-care living
Comprehensive assistance includes getting in and out of bed, bathing, showering, dressing and undressing. Nursing staff visit these residents during the day and night. Also domestic help as per Stage 2.
Stage 5: Dependent living
The 20 two-bed room Rob Roy Care Centre provides 24-hour care for residents and caters for all needs – nursing, laundry, bed assistance, showering and dressing. The Care Centre has four trained sisters and one carer per four residents in occupation.
