July 17, 2011. Thousands flocked to the 2011 Durban Airshow held at Virginia Airport in Durban North yesterday.

Highlights of the Durban Airshow included a magnificent show from the famous Silver Falcons, who dazzled spectators with their percision flying and some high risk stunts (at least it looked high risk to the layman watching on the ground); the Helio “spy plane”, developed by America’s CIA, and which is famous for its short take off and landing capabilities, and is used specifically for reconaissance and special missions; the powerful Oryx military helicopter which dropped skydivers from the sky; and the Hawk jet (you try taking pictures of a jet flying at close to Mach 1).
