February 7, 2012: It’s all happening every Wednesday at the Durban Shongweni Club in Shongweni, every week until end April.
Girls in Jodhpurs, guys riding their mountain bikes, kids on the fields (or zooming around the kiddies mountain bike lap), music drumming over the fields, bonfires and braais! What’s not to like?
While it might be a bit of a trek from north of Durbs, there’s so much happening at the Durban Shongweni Club every Wednesday that it’s hard to stay home during the 13-week long Pharos Summer Series.
If you haven’t had a peak at what’s going on yet, you are missing the best mid-week break this summer. Every Wednesday afternoon there’s an eclectic mix of horsey people (jumping inspiringly big jumps), mountain bikers (of all shapes and sizes) getting fit as they clock up the miles on the mountain biking lap route, guys on the field playing games of touch rugby and lots (and lots!) of kids, loving the freedom that comes with endless fields and a great kiddies mountain bike loop.
If you’ve had a long day and energy is an issue, then enjoy some social time … pop into the pub for a chilled ale or something softer. The burgers on sale also come highly recommended.
Don’t miss the Pharos Summer Series this year.
Every Wednesday: Feb, March and April
