If you receive an unsolicited e-mail concerning a refund from SARS be wary, apparently scamsters are spamming workers with these potentially dangerous e-mails.
Scammers
Be wary if you receive a message notifying you of winning the National Lottery in the UK – the chances are you’ve never even entered. The e-mail is sent with an attachment explaining how lucky old you was selected to receive more than 500 000 pounds. If you have not entered delete this e-mail at once. [...]
Community involvement
Community members in Umhlanga and Durban North are encouraged to get involved and interact with their local Community Policing Forum. The community is urged to report all crimes and to register on the CPF websites www.umhlangacpf.co.za and www.durbannorthcpf.co.za.
Protect your children
Umhlanga CPF reports that there has been a marked increase in the number of child abductions around SA and urges residents and visitors this season to take precautions to watch their own and other people’s children carefully.
Fit for a King!
Security was beefed up recently for the opening of the King Shaka International airport. With extra crowds expected to flock to the site for the launch, additional security was needed to keep things running smoothly and ensure smooth traffic flow.
