Another scorcher for Durban

Jan 12, 2012: Durban remains in the grip of an extremely hot spell, with temperatures expected to peak at 33C today. Humidity levels are at 77%.

There are warnings (from e.tv weather and the SA Weather Service) of extremely uncomfortable and humid conditions for KwaZulu-Natal today, and people are advised to stay out of the sun if possible, particularly around midday, and take on fluids to avoid dehydration.

Tomorrow will remain hot and uncomfortable with little chance of rain, but rain is forecast for the weekend.

Long term forecast for Durban and Umhlanga:

• Friday: 25/32C with little chance of rain and moderate winds
• Saturday: 24/32C with thunderstorms
• Sunday: 22/27C, partly cloudy
• Monday: 21/27C, sunny conditions
